Anambra: PDP to begin screening of governorship candidate -

The People’s Democratic Party, PDP, will on Tuesday begin the screening of all the 26 aspirants contesting the November 16 governorship election in Anambra State.

The primary election has been scheduled for August 24.

The aspirants who submitted nomination forms to run on the party’s platform are Josephine Anenih, a former Women Affairs Minister and wife of the party’s Board of Trustees, BoT, Chairman; the Senate Committee Chairman on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Andy Uba; Special Adviser to the President on Technical Matters and Secretary of Sure-P, Akachukwu Nwankpo; and former Nigerian ambassador to South Korea, Jerry Ugokwe.

Others are Nicholas Ukachukwu, former Senator Emmanuel Anosike, Obinna Uzoh, former Minister Ikeobasi Mokelu, Michael Okoye, Sylvester Okonkwo, Ugochukwu Okeke, Tony Nwoye, Linda Chuba-Ikpeazu, Alexander Obiogbolu, Walter Okeke, Charles Odunukwe, Eucharia Azodo, Donatus Okonkwo, Chuwuka Onyema, Onyenisi Obianuju, Kramer Ifunayachukwu, Adimachukwu Calista and Chinyere Udemba.
