Super Eagles new striker, Anthony Ujah was on target on the opening day of action in the Bundelisga 2 as he played for 82 minutes for FC Koln as they shared points with their hosts Dynamo Dresden; settling for a 1-1 draw on Saturday July 20 2013.
Ujah who was part of the Eagles’ squad to the last FIFA Confederations Cup in Brazil opened his goal scoring account for the Rams just after the hour mark as he put his team in the lead after 62 minutes of action.
Though match reports suggest that Koln were undone by their profligacy in front of goal and could have carted away all three points on offer, Ujah concluded it was not a bad start for him and the team as a whole.
“Not a bad start. (1-1) first game 1st goal. Good football by us. now looking forward to next game big derby. Nice weekend to u all.” An elated Ujah wrote on his twitter handle after Saturday’s game.
FC Koln will be up against Fortuna Düsseldorf in the next round of games.
