Nigeria’s Super Eagles are one of the teams expected at this year’s West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Zone B Tournament billed to take place in Ghana from october 24 tp November 3 2013.
Kwesi Nyantakyi who doubles as Ghana Football Federation (GFA) President a well as sub-regional body took the decision to hand Ghana the hosting right for the third edition of the sub-regional tournament at the last committee meeting WAFU.
Aside Nigeria and Ghana, five of the other competing teams will come from WAFU Zone B, namely Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Niger, and Togo; with Mauritania coming from WAFU Zone A to complete the roster of eight teams.
The matches will be played at the Accra and El-Wak stadiums.
The tournament would serve as preparatory ground for the teams in the region that had qualified for next year’s African Nations Championship (CHAN) scheduled for South Africa next January.
