Enyimba striker, Sibi Gwar, has stated that they intend to maintain their lead on the tables as the NPL league leaders.
Gwar said the People’s Elephant are going for the maximum points in their Week 27 Glo Nigeria Professional Football League match against Kwara United this Saturday at the Kwara State Stadium.
The Aba-based team are top of the table after 26 matches, tied on 42 points with reigning champions, Kano Pillars who have a game at hand.
Speaking to supersport.com in ilorin, Gwar stated that the team was primed for victory in oncoming matches.
“Our win over Lobi Stars in the Federation Cup has really boosted our confidence and we believe we can take the three points at stake. We are in a good frame of mind coming into this game. We are primed to do damage on Kwara United,” He stated
The former Niger Tornadoes frontman is optimistic the Aba-based side will nick the maximum points at stake when the two teams clash.
Gwar, who was the leading scorer last season in the Glo Nigeria Professional Football League when he was with Minna-based Niger Tornadoes, also spoke of his desire to win the league title with the Enyimba.
“I hope my goals can propel Enyimba to the title. I’ve scored six goals already this season and I want to add more before the season ends. I pray it works out fine,” said the striker.
