The Police in Nigeria’s Gombe State have confirmed the killing of two gunmen, who attacked Kumo Police Division in Akko Local Government Area on Friday night.<\/p>\n

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr Mohammed Sule, said the police recovered one AK 47 rifle and two motorcycles from the attackers.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs far as I am concerned, none of my men was killed. What I know is that two of the attackers were killed and we recovered one AK 47 rifle and two motorcycles,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He decried the lack of information from the public to enable the police to prevent such attacks.<\/p>\n

Some residents of Kumo town told NAN on telephone that they heard sounds of gunshots when the attackers came in the night.<\/p>\n

They said they could not sleep in the night because of the exchange of fire between the police and the attackers. (NAN)<\/p>\n
