Abia State Governor, Theodore Orji of Abia State has criticized the Minister of Works, Mr. Mike Onolememen, claiming he has deliberately refused to visit the state to attend to the deteriorating federal roads since he was appointed minister.

Orji who was speaking at the flag-off of Nkporo-Abriba-Ohafia and Ohafia-Arochukwu federal roads, said Omolememen had refused to visit the state to avoid facing the people over the dilapidated condition of the roads.

He warned that the minister would enter into the bad book of the state and its people if the 65-kilometre Ohafia-Arochukwu road flagged off, weekend, was not completed on scheduled.

He wondered why the minister had not visited Abia State since his assumption of office, even though the state accommodated many federal roads under his portfolio.

The governor also expressed disappointment that the minister could not use the opportunity of the flag-off of the two roads to visit Abia and see things for himself.

According to him, the minister has not visited Abia State for once, at least to see things for himself because seeing is believing.

If he comes, we will take him to the sites, he will see things himself. Why he is not visiting Abia State, I don’t know.
