Players of three-time Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions, Dolphins, have embarked on an indefinite strike to press home demands over non-payment of their signing-on fees for the 2011/12 football season.

This will be the second time in just over a month that players of the club will be embarking on a strike over unpaid financial entitlements.

A senior member of the Dolphins team, who spoke to supersport.com, said the players have resolved not to train until their wages have been paid.

“We will not train on Tuesday (today). The Rivers State Commissioner for Sports, Fred Igwe, promised that we will be paid our monies by the end of March. This is April and nobody has told us anything; so we will only commence training when we have been paid,” the disgruntled player stated.

Dolphins sit in 14th place on the NPFL log with five points from five matches.
