Members of the House of Representatives from Kaduna South Senatorial District rose from a meeting on Tuesday and asked the Federal Government to take immediate steps to bring to an end constant attack on southern Kaduna villages by unknown gunmen which has left several people dead in the last one year.<\/div>\n
Several southern Kaduna villages cutting across three local government areas have come under attack from gunmen in the last one year, killing and maiming men, women and children and leaving a lot of casualties.<\/div>\n
The lawmakers also asked the Kaduna state governor, Mukthar Ramalan Yero to immediately to deploy further detachment of arm security to the affected areas to ensure peace and to secure lives and property.<\/div>\n
The members include Hon. Gideon L. Gwani\u00a0 (Kaura Federal Constituency), Hon. Godfrey A. Gaiya (Jaba\/Zango Kataf Constituency), Hon. Adams Jagaba Adams (Kachia\/Kagarko Constituency), Hon. Simon Arabo (Kauru Federal Constituency) and Hon. Shehu N. Garba (Jema\u2019a\/Sanga Constituency)<\/div>\n
A statement issued at the end of the meeting said that the members resolved \u201cto condemn in its entirety the renewed attacks on Southern Kaduna villages particularly the one that happened in Kaura that claimed more than 20 lives already, with four villages totally burnt down by unknown assailants.<\/div>\n
\u201cTo commiserate with the affected communities and call on all relevant government agencies to provide, urgently relief materials to cushion the effects of the displaced persons particularly women and children sheltered at the various primary schools in Kaura L.G.A.<\/div>\n
\u201cTo plead to the entirety of Southern Kaduna Senatorial zone to remain calm, orderly and peaceful even in the face of the unnecessary attacks being visited on the people. Urge the communities to be law abiding but vigilant.<\/div>\n
\u201cTo immediately ask the Government of Kaduna State to deploy further detachment of arm security to the affected areas to ensure peace and to secure lives and property. To call on the Federal Government of Nigeria to urgently bring to an end the incessant attacks bedevilling the people of the Southern Kaduna Senatorial Zone\u201d.<\/div>\n
