The returning of peace which led to relaxing of indefinite curfew in Kaduna state following the Kasuwa Magani bloody violence, was yesterday setback as the kidnapped traditional ruler of Adara, Agom Adara, Dr. Maiwada Galadima was found dead.<\/p>\n
The Chief was reportedly kidnapped with his wife during a condolence visit to victims of Kasuwa Magani unhealthy development which led to scores of death and wanton destructions within and outside his domains.<\/p>\n
Sources hinted that though the wife was set free, efforts to linkup with the Agom Adara and his kidnappers proofed abortive throughout the days he was in captivity until yesterday morning when his lifeless body \u201cwas dumped in an area on Abuja road\u201d by the suspected killers.<\/p>\n
As early as 900am yesterday when the news went out with ill feelings that greeted the death, the peaceful atmosphere in Kaduna was upturned as people who went out for various activities rushed back scampering for safety.<\/p>\n
By 930am, Banks which opened to customers in the early hours of the morning, abruptly stopped business and hurriedly closed their gates none staff members.\u00a0And while commuters were seen running out of their offices and markets with shoes on their hands, cars and commercial vehicle operators were carelessly driving in opposite directions.<\/p>\n
As the state boil again, the relaxed curfew has been reviewed back to 2400hrs with immediate effect with a view to preventing a total breakdown of law and order.\u00a0However, within the short period of renewed development, a number of people were subjected to torture and human rights violation in the hands of hoodlums. In places like the bypass express and Badikko areas, innocent people were molested, beaten to a comma and rushed to Hospital for medical attention.<\/p>\n
In his reaction, Governor Nasir El-Rufai who confirmed the incident, expressed shock and pain with the death of the traditional ruler, crying out that his Government and security agents worked strenuously to rescue him from his kidnappers.<\/p>\n
According to him \u201dthe Kaduna State Government regrets to announce the death of HRH Agom Adara, Dr. Maiwada Galadima. We mourn this quintessential traditional ruler who was killed by his abductors in the early hours of today.<\/p>\n
In a statement by his media aide, Samuel Aruwan, Governor El-Rufai described Dr. Galadima as a \u201cman of peace and a traditional ruler who consistently made positive contributions for the peace and tranquillity in his Chiefdom and the entire state\u201d and therefore lamented that \u201cit is pained and heartbroken that criminal elements have taken him away\u201d.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Kaduna State Government extends its condolence to the family of this revered leader and to the people of the chiefdom he led with dedication and commitment.\u00a0\u201cFollowing the abduction of the royal father, the security agencies and the government worked strenuously to secure his release. Government is shocked and disappointed by this unfortunate development. The government of Kaduna State and security agencies will pursue justice for this revered man.<\/p>\n
\u201cKaduna State has lost a cherished leader. Governor Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai on behalf of the government and people of the state extends deep sympathy to the immediate family and the people of the Adara Chiefdom.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe government also wishes to appeal for calm in the chiefdom and beyond. The criminal elements that have done this heinous deed should not be allowed to further divide us\u201d, El-Rufai said.<\/p>\n
