The Management and Staff of NNPC has commiserated \u00a0with its Group Managing Director, Mr Andrew Yakubu\u00a0over \u00a0the demise of his younger brother, Mr Yohanna Yakubu.<\/p>\n

This is contained in a statement\u00a0by the Acting Group General Manager, Public Affairs of\u00a0NNPC, Ms Tumini Green, on Sunday in Abuja.<\/p>\n

The statement said the 47- year- old engineer and\u00a0staff member of the corporation was murdered in the early hours of Sunday.<\/p>\n

Until his death, the deceased\u00a0 was the Chief Operator at the Power Plant and Utilities Department of the Kaduna Refinery \u00a0and Petrochemical Company (KRPC).<\/p>\n

The statement said the deceased was killed by men suspected to be armed robbers in Idon Village in Kachia Local Government Area of Kaduna State while travelling to his village in Zangon Kataf Local Government Area\u00a0.<\/p>\n

“While we await the outcome of the police investigation on this sad event our prayers and commiseration remain with the entire Yakubu family,<\/p>\n

“We implore the Almighty to give them the fortitude to bear this great loss,” it said.<\/p>\n

It said the remains of the late Yohanna Yakubu would be laid to rest on Friday, April 19, in his hometown.<\/p>\n

He joined the services of the NNPC in July 1987<\/p>\n
