A former Vice Chairman, Kwara state chapter of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Dr Adewunmi Ariyo, has been killed by unknown assailants in his residence in Ilorin.<\/p>\n

Tosin, wife of the deceased, who confirmed the death, said the five assailants, stormed their house at about 10 p.m on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Ariyo said they dragged him to the sitting room where they killed him after collecting his car key and DVD player.<\/p>\n

She said they then came upstairs to meet her, a nursing mother, telling her that her husband had been killed and that she should cooperate with them and handover her jewellery.<\/p>\n

Ariyo, 42, worked in the Dental Department, University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital, (UITH).<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, some of the sympathisers at the deceased’s residence on Friday described him as a soft-spoken and easy going person.<\/p>\n
