Four women were on Tuesday in Lagos arraigned in an Ebute Meta Magistrates\u2019 Court for allegedly assaulting a policeman.<\/p>\n

The accused: Sharon Moses, 26, Emily Monday, 22, Cynthia Amaka, 21 and Sabina Osondu, 27, are facing a one count charge of assaulting a police officer.<\/p>\n

Moses, resides at DLA Road Asaba, Lagos; Monday at No19 Church St, Ikorodu, Lagos; Amaka, No.9, Atiba close, Value Estate Dopemu, Lagos while Osondu, lives at Nigeria Airforce Base, Ikeja, Lagos.<\/p>\n

The Prosecutor, Mr Samuel Ishola, told the court that the crime was committed on April 19, at Ritalori Hotel, Bode Thomas St, Surulere, Lagos.<\/p>\n

According to him, the four accused lodged in a room at the hotel but the manager told them that four people cannot stay in a room.<\/p>\n

Ishola said that the four accused refused to leave the room, even when the manager returned their money to them.<\/p>\n

He said that the manager invited the policeman assigned to the hotel to chase them out but rather the accused pounced on the police officer.<\/p>\n

He said that the accused assaulted the police officer by beating and tearing his uniform.<\/p>\n

He said that the alleged offence contravened Section 172 of the Criminal Code Laws of Lagos State, 2011.<\/p>\n

The Magistrate, Mrs M.O. Tanimola, granted the accused bail in the sum of N50,000 each with a surety in like sum.<\/p>\n

She adjourned the case to May 15 for mention.<\/p>\n
