\"\"Miners have rejected the composition of new board of the Solid Minerals Development Fund constituted to boost development in the mining sector.<\/strong><\/em> The National President National President of the Progressive Miners Empowerment Association, Mr Sunday Ekozin told Channels Television in Abuja that the fund should not be entrusted in the hands of people that do not have the interest of the sector at heart. The exact amount of the fund has not been announced but the initiative is meant to develop the sector and meet the needs of private sector led mining industry. Ekozin also called on the\u00a0government to pay more attention to the licences awarded to foreigners especially those that have come to invade the sector without paying attention to best practices.<\/p>\n
