The leadership and members of the Rivers State House of Assembly have raised alarm over plot by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to impeach Governor Ameachi. Thus corroborating huhuonline.com\u2019s publication of 18th April 2013, titled \u201cPDP Fine-tunes Plans to Impeach Amaechi\u2026 As NSA Quizzes Ibim Semenitari\u201d (http:\/\/bit.ly\/13kM3gB).<\/p>\n

A press statement issued on Tuesday by Rt. Hon. Otelemaba Amachree, Speaker of Rivers State House of Assembly, said:<\/p>\n

\u201cThe leadership and members of the Rivers State House of Assembly wish to bring to the notice of the people of Rivers State and Nigerians some of the dangerous moves by the Felix Obuah-led PDP to cause general chaos and confusion in Rivers State.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cWe have been reliably informed that a fake mace has been smuggled into the state to enable FIVE members of the house hold an emergency session even when the House adjourned sine die on Tuesday, April 23, 2013.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cThe Abuja plan on ground is to falsely impeach the Rt. Hon. Speaker and the Executive Governor of Rivers State, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and create confusion through varied responses, which they hope will make the state ungovernable and provide them with some kind of warped basis to introduce Emergency Rule in Rivers State.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cFurthermore, there are strong indications that some persons have been detailed exclusively to create systemic collapse of security in the state, putting lives and property in danger.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is undemocratic, unacceptable and a complete violation of the mandate that the good people of Rivers State have vested on us. We call on the good people of Rivers State to remain Calm, watchful and law abiding as the scenario unfolds.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u00a0Abnitio, PDP had a two-prong approach to unseat Gov. Ameachi. As huhuonline.com published previously, our findings reveal that the plot, which is to commence soon, will be a two-prong approach. The first is to rally all members of the Rivers State House of Assembly and offer them money to impeach incumbent Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Hon. Amachree Otelemaba Asari-Toru, who is considered weak but pro-Ameachi, and install someone from the anti-Amaechi camp.<\/p>\n

The second approach is that the anti-Amaechi Speaker will institute impeachment proceedings against Governor Amaechi over bogus allegations. Once Amaechi is impeached, his deputy, Engr. Tele Ikuru, who is a surrogate of Prince Uche Sekondis, will be sworn in.<\/p>\n

Nyeson Wike\u2019s anger, Huhuonline.com learnt, stems from Amaechi\u2019s refusal to back his senatorial ambition, preferring Senator Magnus Abe, who sources reveal is being groomed to succeed Rotimi Amaechi.<\/p>\n

Nyeson Wike, incumbent minister of state for education feels he was not adequately compensated for his role during Amaechi Rotimi and Celestine Omehia\u2019s legal squabbles.<\/p>\n

Nyeson Wike, close ally of Justice Katsina Alau, is alleged to have masterminded the behind-the-scene maneuvers of the Supreme Court judgment that brought Amaechi into office.<\/p>\n

\u00a0However, after our publication, all the pretenders and contenders from Rivers State who have ass to grind with Amaechi\u00a0 and the PDP leadership decided to change their strategy.<\/p>\n

Consequently, the state chairman of the PDP was mandated to suspend majority of the members of the State House of Assembly who are considered to be loyal to Gov. Amaechi but their ultimate target remains the impeachment of Amaechi.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Huhuonline.com learnt that the crux of this wholesale suspension exercise, which be lifted on date yet-to-be-announced is designed to break ranks within Amaechi\u2019s followers and create new loyalties.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Huhuonline.com reported that five members of the River State House Assembly have been mobilized by the Presidency and PDP leadership to ensure that Amaechi is impeached are Hon. Okey Chinda,(Obio Okpo Local government Area), Hon. Martin Amahule Chike (Obio\/A kpo 1 LGA), Evan Bipi (Ogu \/Bolo LGA), Victor Ihunwo (Port Harcourt Area LGA), Hon. Kelechi\u00a0 Godspower Worgu (Omuma LGA).<\/p>\n

\u00a0Little wonder these five members of the State House of Assembly were spared in the suspension order as announced by Felix Obuah. Nevertheless, if the Abuja Plan succeeds, Hon. Okey Chinda is the PDP anointed speaker in waiting who will unseat Gov. Amaechi.<\/p>\n
