The Director General, National Orientation Agency (NOA), Mr. Mike Omeri has commended Nigerian workers for their unfailing commitment and patriotism which has resulted in the gradual realization of the transformation agenda.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

This was contained in a goodwill message to Nigerian workers on the occasion of this years\u201ds May day celebration.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In a press statement by Paul Odenyi Chief Press secretary of NOA, Mr. Omeri stressed the importance of a committed workforce to the growth of any economy, noting that \u201cthe collective desire of Nigerians to be among the twenty leading world economies by 2020 is realizable if we sustain the combination of competence and commitment on the part of all Nigerian workers\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Director General who noted that the \u201cDo the Right Thing\u201d<\/em><\/strong> campaign of the NOA is beginning to yield noticeable results in positively transforming the attitude to work of the average Nigerian worker however noted that it was not time to relent.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In his words: \u201cWe are happy with the positive impact our \u2018Do the Right Thing\u2019<\/em><\/strong> campaign is having on Nigerian workers\u2019 attitude to duty, but there is still much work to be done. Those of us who have caught the message of \u2018Do the Right Thing\u2019 <\/em><\/strong>and are living by it should pass it on to others. Let us not relent but keep at it and Nigeria will be the better for it\u201d<\/p>\n

The DG said NOA remains highly committed to the welfare of it’s workers and has demonstrated this by ensuring that Pensions have been paid up to date and all pension arrears have been cleared. The management of the Agency, he said, will continue to work towards improved welfare of staff in accordance with the Public Service Rules<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Mr. Omeri wished workers a happy and peaceful Workers Day celebration and a more mutually rewarding relationship between them and their various employers in the years ahead.<\/p>\n
