{"id":3502,"date":"2013-05-11T14:25:56","date_gmt":"2013-05-11T14:25:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/disnaija.com\/nigeria-news\/jigawa-govt-earmarks-n250m-for-rehabilitation-centre\/"},"modified":"2013-05-11T14:25:56","modified_gmt":"2013-05-11T14:25:56","slug":"jigawa-govt-earmarks-n250m-for-rehabilitation-centre","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/disnaija.com\/jigawa-govt-earmarks-n250m-for-rehabilitation-centre\/","title":{"rendered":"Jigawa Govt. earmarks N250m for rehabilitation centre"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"fb-like-box\" data-href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/DisNaija\" data-width=\"292\" data-show-faces=\"false\" data-stream=\"false\" data-header=\"true\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"fb-like\" data-href=\"http:\/\/disnaija.com\" data-send=\"true\" data-width=\"200\" data-show-faces=\"false\" data-action=\"recommend\"><\/div>\n<p><em><strong>By Agency Reporter<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Jigawa Government on Friday said it earmarked N250 million for the construction of an ultra-modern rehabilitation centre for persons with disability.<\/p>\n<p>Alhaji Ibrhaim Rabakaya, the Executive Secretary, Jigawa Rehabilitation Board, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Dutse that the project would be sited in Dutse.<\/p>\n<p>Rabakaya said N18 million had been released to the board to facilitate smooth take off of the project, which would be\u00a0 completed in three years.<\/p>\n<p>He said that computer, sports and recreational facilities, literacy classes and workshops would be provided at the centre to enhance training of the persons.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It is a training centre, it will also serve as transit camp for persons with disability,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The secretary said the effort would reduce street begging and improve the socio-economic well being of the affected persons.<\/p>\n<p>According to him, the board has so far established community-based rehabilitation centres in the 27 local government areas of the state.
