{"id":377,"date":"2013-02-21T09:08:25","date_gmt":"2013-02-21T09:08:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/disnaija.com\/?p=377"},"modified":"2020-04-21T20:50:49","modified_gmt":"2020-04-21T20:50:49","slug":"no-state-budget-for-federal-project-oshiomhole-tells-good-governance-team","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/disnaija.com\/no-state-budget-for-federal-project-oshiomhole-tells-good-governance-team\/","title":{"rendered":"No State Budget For Federal Project &#8211; Oshiomhole Tells Good Governance Team"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Governor Oshiomhole of Edo State, \u00a0has informed the Good Governance Team led by Labaran Maku that his State has no budget for a Federal Government&#8217;s project.<\/p>\n<p>The team has been on inspection of projects in states across the South-east and South-south zone and is scheduled to visit Edo State.<\/p>\n<p>Oshiomhole who spoke at a seminar on Tax Laws organised by Edo State Board of Internal Revenue, recalled that the Good Governance team forwarded a proposal to the state government, asking it to provide accommodation, feeding and logistics for over 120 delegates that would be on the trip.<\/p>\n<p>He described the proposal as \u201cbogus\u201d, saying he was not ready to foot the bill of such trip.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhenever Edo State government officials travel to Abuja for official duties, the state takes responsibility and not the Federal Government.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, it is not proper to use Edo State\u2019s tax payers\u2019 money to finance a Federal Government programme. If they pay me a courtesy visit, I will receive them, but I don\u2019t have a dime to spend on them because I do not need them to come to tell Edo people how I built roads and schools.
