The Nigerian Government has set up a twenty five Member Committee to address complaints of retired Staff of the Federal Civil Service in accessing their pension.<\/p>\n
Head of the Federal Civil Service, Bukar Aji said having served the Nation, redressing the plight of pensioners is a priority.<\/p>\n
The Independent Corrupt Practices Commission, ICPC, Office of the Federal Auditor General, that of the Federal Accountant General are also on the Committee.<\/p>\n
Sunday Omezi is a Trustee of the National Union of Pensioners, which is represented on the twenty-five Member Committee.<\/p>\n
Nigerian Pensioners suffer omission of Names from the payroll, non-payment of gratuity and death benefits, among other challenges.<\/p>\n
A Director was earlier in the year convicted of stealing approximately twenty seven billion naira of pensioners funds.
