Anambra State government said on Tuesday that every arrangement has been concluded for the burial of the literary grant, Prof. Chinua Achebe, at his Ogidi community in the state.<\/p>\n

Already, the state police command has deployed over 4,000 policemen to ensure security during the burial.<\/p>\n

Briefing reporters on Tuesday in Awka, the Secretary to the State Government and Chairman of the state government Burial Committee, Oseloka Obaze, said that the state government had put all resources together for the burial and other logistics.<\/p>\n

The body of Achebe, according to him, will be brought to the Alex Ekwueme square in Awka on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo shop will be closed, it is a voluntary thing. But we have invited all Ndi Anambra, civil servants, traders and schools to attend the burial.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can tell you without any equivocation that the Governors of the South East states have been supportive in the burial arrangements and they will be there to receive Mr. President tomorrow (Thursday) during the burial.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are also people outside the South East zone that had been very supportive since the literary icon died. The environment has also been cleaned up, while all the access roads, had been taken care of, \u201c Obaze said.<\/p>\n
