Nigeria moved one step closer to qualifying for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil after Ahmed Musa’s second half goal ensured the Super Eagles defeat host Kenya in Kasarani by a one goal.

The Eagles missed several scoring chances and were also denied an obvious penalty as both Teams settled for a goalless first half.

The introduction of John Ogu, Anthony Ujah and Fengor ogude in the second half was the tonic the Eagles needed to stamp authority on the Game before Ahmed Musa’s 81st minute strike.

In eleven matches before Wednesday Game, the Super Eagles won nine times with the remaining ending in draws.

Wednesday’s victory has thus catapulted Nigeria to the top of Group F with eight points while Malawi sits in second place with six, followed by Namibia on four points and Kenya on two points.

This position shows that Kenya is out of the World Cup 2014 race.

Nigeria’s next match is in Windhoek on June 12 against Namibia while Malawi hosts Kenya in Blantyre.
