The Code of Conduct Tribunal will soon commence trial of the Former Minister of The Federal Capital Territory Lieutenant General Jeremiah Useni (RTD) for failing to declare his assets while in office<\/p>\n

The case was first filed before the Federal High Court by the Former Attorney General of the Federation, Kanu Agabi.<\/p>\n

Useni\u2019s Counsel Victor Odjemu had approached the tribunal in may 2013 to file a motion on notice asking the tribunal to assume jurisdiction and compel the Federal Government to hand over assets confiscated from his client to the tribunal as they were seized without any Court order.<\/p>\n

The trial, which has been adjourned several times since year 2000 due to a challenge over jurisdiction of the Court was unable to hold on Wednesday for lack of Qourum.<\/p>\n

The tribunal has fixed June 25 for trial.<\/p>\n
