Gus Poyet was sacked as Brighton boss Sunday night \u2014 while working on live television.<\/p>\n

He found out he had lost his job while covering the Confederations Cup clash between Spain and Nigeria for the BBC.<\/p>\n

Poyet, who is determined to appeal the decision, blasted: \u201cI think the BBC has a great story. A manager getting information he has been relieved of his job by the BBC during a programme is quite surprising, \u201cI still have had no communication, no text, and no email. I am probably the first one to be in this position. I think everyone can take their own conclusion about the way I have been informed.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added: \u201cThe only thing I am concentrating on is appealing because it is the right thing to do.\u201d<\/p>\n

SunSport revealed details of how Poyet was suspended after Brighton\u2019s Championship play-off semi-final defeat to Crystal Palace last month and the discovery of human excrement in Palace\u2019s Amex Stadium dressing room.<\/p>\n

The club statement read: \u201cGus Poyet has been informed by the club\u2019s internal disciplinary panel that his employment has been terminated with immediate effect.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis followed his suspension, an investigation, and a subsequent formal disciplinary process.\u201d<\/p>\n

Brighton have offered former Barcelona midfielder, Oscar Garcia a two-year contract to replace Poyet as manager.<\/p>\n

Poyet took charge of the Seagulls in 2009 and led them to promotion from League One.<\/p>\n
