Reigning second runners up, International School, Lagos, ISL, and former champions, Yejide Girls Grammar School, Ibadan, have been drawn in a tough group at the 2013 finals of the Nestle Milo Basketball Championship.<\/p>\n

The grand finale of the 15th edition of the All Secondary Schools Basketball Tourney is scheduled to hold from 1-6 July, inside the Indoor Sports Hall, National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, southwest, Nigeria.<\/p>\n

In the Boys’ category, International School, Rivers State University of Science and Technology, RSUST, Government Secondary School, Minna and Adedokun International School of Otta are in Group A.<\/p>\n

In Group B, are: International School Lagos, ISL, Akoka, Government Boys\u2019 College, Funtua and St. Joseph Secondary School, Makurdi.<\/p>\n

For the Girls\u2019 category, Group A consists the defending champions, St. Jude Girls\u2019 Secondary School, Amarata, Bayelsa, Government Secondary School, Gboko and Westend Mixed Secondary School, Asaba.<\/p>\n

In Group B, are the maiden champions, Yejide Girls Grammar School, Ibadan, Ahmadiya College, Kano and Government Day Girls\u2019 Secondary School, Gusua.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the draw ceremony held at the Nestle headquarters in Ilupeju, Lagos, Managing Director of Nestle Nigeria PLC, Mr. Dharnesh Gordhon admonished all the participants to exhibit the spirit of sportmanship during and after the competition.<\/p>\n

He also said Milo will continue to nurture the development of basketball and other sports in Nigeria, adding that they are proud to engage young sporting talents across Nigeria.<\/p>\n

According to the Category Business Manager of Nestle PLC, Mrs Doja Ekeruche, 12 teams will compete in the grand finale out of the 5,626 schools that began this year\u2019s edition of the championship that debuted with just over a thousand schools in 1999.<\/p>\n

Mrs Ekeruche further disclosed that the eventual winners of the championship will get a cash prize of N150,000, while the1st and 2nd runners up will go home with a cash prize of N120,000 and N100,000 respectively and a giant trophy.<\/p>\n

All the 12 participating schools in the finals will get a cheque of N200,000 on their arrival in Lagos.<\/p>\n
