In search of safer lands, farmers in Udaba community, near Fugar in Etsako Central Local Government Area of Edo, have abandoned their farms for fear of flood.<\/p>\n

The area was among those severely-hit by last year\u2019s flood.<\/p>\n

Reports say farmers moved in their large numbers, abandoning the community to a safer place, to continue their farming business.<\/p>\n

Speaking on the situation, the Udaba Village Head, Chief Daniel Utakpe, told newsmen in Udaba that the relocation became necessary following the life threatening experience of 2012.<\/p>\n

Utakpe said that the farmers relocated to neighbouring communities of Esan South East, Esan North East and part of highland of Ekperi kingdom in Etsako Central.<\/p>\n

Utakpe said the people still awaited the promises of rehabilitation for the flood victims by the government.<\/p>\n
