Transactions on the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) closed on the upward trend on Friday as market indicators increased by 1.1 per cent and some highly-capitalised firms recorded price gains.<\/p>\n

As a result of the gains, the market capitalisation appreciated by N132 billion to close at N11.694 trillion from N11.562 trillion recorded on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Similarly, the All-Share Index, which opened at 36,509.63 points appreciated by 416.66 basis points to close at 36,926.29.<\/p>\n

Nestle recorded the highest price gain of N30 to close at N1,000 per share.<\/p>\n

SIMCAPAL followed with N7.59 gain to close at N103.50 per share, while Lafarge WAPCO grew by N5.20 to close at N94.80 per share.<\/p>\n

CAP share price appreciated by N4.49 to close at N49.49 per share,while Presco gained N2.98 to close at N39.97 per share.<\/p>\n

Conversely, Total led the price losers\u2019 chart with 90k to close at N159 per share.<\/p>\n

Cadbury trailed with 79k to close at N59 per share, while Ashaka Cement dropped by 70k to close at N25.80 per share.<\/p>\n

Eternal Oil depreciated by 16k to close at N3.22 per share, while AG Leventis dipped by 15k to close at N1.45 per share.<\/p>\n

In all, investors exchanged 591.64 million shares worth N3.6 billion in 5,086 deals.<\/p>\n

This is against the 4.4 billion shares valued at N2.7 billion traded in 4,971 deals on Thursday. (NAN)<\/p>\n
