Governor Olusegun Mimiko of Ondo State has declared that the Integrated Emergency Medical Service in Ondo State (TRAUMA Centre ) will be second to none in Africa when it commences operation soon even as the state\u2019s Commissioner for Health, Dr Dayo Adeyanju mentioned yesterday that installation of modern equipment have commenced at the centre.<\/p>\n

Dr Mimiko, speaking at the Medical Village, Laje Road, Ondo site of the centre expressed satisfaction at the level of work done at the centre. With the progress of work recorded so far, he said his government is close to achieving what it wants to achieve saying that medical services that will not be available in other places will be available at the centre.<\/p>\n

He described the facility as the best in the sub-region. Also expressing satisfaction at the work rate at the centre, Commissioner for Health, Dr Dayo Adeyanju who was among top government officials who took the Governor round the facilities at the centre said the work at the centre, is at the finishing stage adding that operation will commence at the centre very soon.<\/p>\n

He gave an assurance that the centre will be a first class one adding that workers of the centre have been recruited. He said Ondo State is on the verge of making history as the centre would be one of the best in the world at completion adding that no stone would be left unturned in making quality healthcare delivery available to all and sundry.<\/p>\n

Speaking in the same vein, Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr Kayode Akinmade said the Trauma Centre was designed in line with Governor Mimiko\u2019s vision to make Ondo state a benchmark for the continent of Africa.<\/p>\n

He added that on completion, the Trauma centre will attract patronage from far and near, even as he mentioned that the facility will also serve as a training spot for would be practitioners. \u201cThe Trauma centre was designed in line with Mr Governor\u2019s vision to bench mark for Africa.<\/p>\n

At completion the Centre will be the first in Africa and it will further confirm the ingenuity of Mr Governor as far as his caring nature is concerned.\u201d Akinmade offered. He further stated that the idea of the Trauma Centre came into being \u201cas a result of the determination of Mr Governor to make a difference in the area of health and delivery of dividends of democracy.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is noteworthy that most of the programmes of this administration since inception are novel and the fact that most states in the country have been either been replicating or planning to replicate most of these initiatives is attestation to the ingenuity of the Governor.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlready, some other states and countries in Africa have indicated interest to come and understudy the Centre so as to enable them duplicate same\u201d the Commissioner said. Akinmade expressed optimism that the Centre will no doubt further showcase the Mimiko administration as one with foresight and genuine desire to uplift the living standard of the people of the state.<\/p>\n
