{"id":6315,"date":"2013-07-11T06:24:58","date_gmt":"2013-07-11T06:24:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/disnaija.com\/nigeria-news\/three-week-old-baby-abandoned-in-ilesa\/"},"modified":"2013-07-11T06:24:58","modified_gmt":"2013-07-11T06:24:58","slug":"three-week-old-baby-abandoned-in-ilesa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/disnaija.com\/three-week-old-baby-abandoned-in-ilesa\/","title":{"rendered":"Three-week old baby abandoned in Ilesa"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"fb-like-box\" data-href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/DisNaija\" data-width=\"292\" data-show-faces=\"false\" data-stream=\"false\" data-header=\"true\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"fb-like\" data-href=\"http:\/\/disnaija.com\" data-send=\"true\" data-width=\"200\" data-show-faces=\"false\" data-action=\"recommend\"><\/div>\n<p>By <strong><em>Citizens Platform<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A three-week-old baby girl, abandoned in Oke-Iro Street in Ilesa, has been rescued by officials of Osun State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare.<\/p>\n<p>A statement by a Director, Osun State Ministry of Information, Mr Dapo Ajayi, on Wednesday, called on parents, especially mothers, not to abandon their babies.<\/p>\n<p>The statement said the baby, wrapped in white shawl, was abandoned in a quiet part of the street.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs. Oluwakemi Kolawole, the case has been reported to the police.<\/p>\n<p>Kolawole urged members of the public who know the whereabouts of the parents to furnish the ministry of the police with information.<\/p>\n<p>Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs Adetoun Adegboyega, restated the commitment of the Rauf Aregbesola administration to protecting the citizenry.<\/p>\n<p>She said, \u201cOgbeni Rauf Aregbesola administration is committed to protecting lives and property.
