Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State has said that he felt like going on strike because of certain wrong things that are going on in the country.<\/p>\n

Oshiomhole who stated this Saturday at the burial ceremony of a former Deputy Senate President, Senator Albert Legogie, said the act of some few lawmakers to hijack the leadership of the Rivers State House of Assembly was condemnable.<\/p>\n

“Initially, we were hearing that 16 was more than 19 and we were looking for Chike Obi( the late mathematician) for an answer. All of a sudden, we heard that five was more than 22. If we are not careful in this country, very soon, we will hear that one is more than 99,” Oshiomhole said.<\/p>\n

He however praised members of the House of Representatives for their stand on the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State, adding “the House has taken the side of truth over an event that occurred in a place that is not far from here.”<\/p>\n

The governor described the late Legogie as a true democrat who gave his all for the enthronement of true democracy in the country.<\/p>\n

He recalled that the former Deputy Senate President was the only Afemai leader who believed in the possibility of his candidacy when he signified his interest to contest for the Edo State governorship seat and introduced him to political leaders and traditional rulers.<\/p>\n

Emeka Ihedioha, deputy speaker of the House of Representatives stated that the late Legogie worked under a difficult circumstance as a lawmaker during military rule, charging his children to complete the tasks that were not completed by their father.<\/p>\n

Dignitaries who attended the burial included Senator George Akume, who represented Senate President, David Mark; Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Emeka Ihedioha; Senator Babafemi Ojudu, Senator Domingo Obende, Hon Peter Akpatason, Hon Abubakar Momoh, Hon Rasaq Bello-Osagie, vice chancellor University of Uyo, Prof (Mrs) Comfort Ekpo; Prof Amos Emogie, Alhaji Usman Shagadi, Prince Malik Afegbua, Hon Johnny Ogbuma, Hon Emmanuel Momoh among others.<\/p>\n
