""Celebrity couple Jay Z and Beyonce attended a rally in New York for Trayvon Martin on Saturday adding their voice to protests across the country expressing anger over the acquittal of George Zimmerman, the man who shot and killed the unarmed black teenager in Florida. Protests in both New York and Miami were being led by Trayvon Martin’s parents, and were organized by veteran civil rights activist, the Reverend Al Sharpton. Sharpton had said protests were planned for more than 100 cities nationwide, and organizers have voiced hopes they will be peaceful, with no further outbreaks of the violence that led to arrests in Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay area earlier this week. Sharpton led the rally in New York alongside Martin’s mother, Sybrina Fulton, outside the police headquarters in New York. He has said he hopes that continued public pressure will force the Justice Department to bring a civil rights case against Zimmerman. A planned demonstration in Miami, near the home where the 17-year-old Martin lived, was due to be led by his father.
