The Speaker of the House of Representatives\"\", Honourable Aminu Tambuwal has restated that the House is working on a legislation to check the rising network of oil thieves in the country.<\/strong><\/em> To deal decisively with the matter, the speaker called for collaboration between African, Caribbean, Pacific and European Union (ACP-EU) at the conclusion of the tenth regional parliamentary meeting in Abuja, to help checkmate the country\u2019s shortfall in revenue. Tambuwal said the economic challenges, oil theft and bunkering posed a serious threat not only to Nigeria, but for Africa and the globe, stressing that the menace has led to a proliferation of violence and terrorist acts across the country. The national assembly had earlier revealed that the country loses about 300,000 barrels of crude oil per day, which translates to a loss of one billion dollars every month.<\/p>\n
