The market capitalisation of the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), on Tuesday declined by N65 billion, as a result of huge price losses by some blue chip companies.<\/p>\n
The market capitalisation closed lower at N11.998 trillion from the N12.063 trillion achieved on Monday.<\/p>\n
The All-Share Index lost 205.17 points or 0.54 per cent to close at 37,885.57.<\/p>\n
Guinness topped the losers’ table by N8, to close at N252 per share.<\/p>\n
It was trailed by PZ Cussons with a loss of N4.20, to close at N44.30, while Nigerian Breweries dipped by N3.30 to close at N167 per share.<\/p>\n
UAC-Property declined by 99k to close at N15, while NASCON lost 45k to close at N12.50 per share.<\/p>\n
On the other hand, Forte Oil led the gainers’ chart by N3.27 to close at N36 per share.<\/p>\n
Conoil followed with a gain of N2.78 to close at N30.61, while MRS gained N2.50 to close at N27.55 per share.<\/p>\n
GlaxoSmithKline appreciated by N1.50 to close at N60 per share, while Champion grew by 85k to close at N9.39 per share.<\/p>\n
The volume of shares traded increased to 1.28 billion shares worth N4.3 billion traded in 5,700 deals , as against 509.49 million shares valued at N2.7 billion traded in 5,764 deals.<\/p>\n
Transcorp emerged the most-traded equity, accounting for 939.63 million shares worth N1.36 billion.<\/p>\n
Sterling Right sold a total of 25.41 million shares worth N40.6 million, while UBA traded 23.98 million shares valued at N199.1 million.<\/p>\n
Investors staked N376.24 million on 20.74 million shares of FBN Holdings, while Fidelity Bank\u2019s investors traded a total of 19.61 million shares worth N60.26 million.<\/p>\n
