The Nigeria national team will leave for Cote D\u2019Ivoire ahead of this weekend\u2019s second leg CHAN qualifier.The Super Eagles consisting of 18 players will depart Lagos on Thursday morning for Abidjan, Cote D\u2019Ivoire where they will face the Elephants in a second leg African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifying match this weekend.<\/header>\n<\/section>\n<\/aside>\n <\/p>\n
Stephen Keshi kept faith in his regulars Sunday Mbaa, Godfrey Oboabona, Chigozie Agbim, Azubuike Egwuekwe and Daniel Akpeyi.<\/p>\n
Nigeria lead 4-1 from the first leg and need to avoid defeat by more than three goals to qualify for their first CHAN in South Africa, a competition open to only players based in their country\u2019s league.<\/p>\n
Sadly, Kano Pillars striker Gambo Mohammed was dropped due to a muscle tear he copped on Monday during the team\u2019s routine training session. Keshi said it will take Gambo at least six weeks to recover from the tear and regretted missing him in the return leg duel against the Ivoirians.<\/p>\n
In his place Warri Wolves\u2019 Etebor Oghenekaro and Alhaji Gero of Rangers International are expected to battle it out with Ifeanyi Ede, who showed flashes of competence in the team\u2019s last test game against TEAP FC of Abuja.<\/p>\n
The team is expected to depart Lagos on Thursday morning and arrive Abidjan at noon on time for a training session to ginger the team for the crucial match against the Elephants.<\/p>\n
