Veteran journalist and legendary newspaper columnist, Alhaji Alade Odunewu is dead.<\/p>\n

Sources said he died Thursday at St Nicholas Hospital in Lagos, souhtwest Nigeria. He was aged 86.<\/p>\n

The cause of his death could not be immediately ascertained. But it could be old-age related.<\/p>\n

Popularly called Allahdey, he maintained a column in the defunct Daily Times newspaper in which he wrote pungent articles about the issues of the day.<\/p>\n

He was also a former chairman of the Public Complaints Commission in Lagos State.<\/p>\n
