The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees has said that it will mobilise its members nationwide to move against the Action Congress of Nigeria, its governors and anti-local government autonomy lawmakers in 2015.

The General Secretary of NULGE, Mr. Joshua Irapakob, said at a news conference in Abuja on Friday that the union decided to move against the ACN because of the party’s opposition to the issue of autonomy for the local governments in the constitution amendment process.

He said that NULGE leadership was irked by a directive given by the ACN and the governors elected on the platform of the party to members in the National Assembly to vote against local government autonomy.

The NULGE scribe said the umbrella union for local government employees would work toward voting the ACN out of power in the South-West.

Irapakob said that the NULGE leadership had also called a three-day warning strike to protest against the Senate’s opposition to the granting of autonomy to the councils.
