""Following recent threats by trade unions in the aviation industry to tackle airlines that abuse expatriate quota in the industry, the minister of labour, Mr Emeka Wogu has urged members to always resort to social dialogue times to resolve aggrieved issues. Mr Wogu who was speaking at the 13th national delegates conference and symposium in Abuja noted that the sector can only witness greater advancement when members dutifully carry out regular checks with their employers. President of the national association of aircraft pilots and engineers, comrade Isaac Balami had earlier expressed regrets that the sector had been taken over by foreigners while its members remain jobless. Balami observed the use of expatriates has further drained the resources of the sector while foreign maintenance organisations are gradually taking center stage in the industry, even when the country has local capacity in that area.
