The\u00a0Kabiru Turaki-led Presidential\u00a0Committee\u00a0on Dialogue and Peaceful Resolution of\u00a0Security Challenges\u00a0in the North, setup in April by President Goodluck Jonathan, has been granted \u00a0a 60-day extension.<\/p>\n

Initially, the committee was mandated to carry out its assignment within three months but has now been given the extension on the heels of bomb blasts in Kano on Monday evening.<\/p>\n

Turaki told State House correspondents on Tuesday that the extension of time was granted so that the committee can conclude its assignment, saying members will not be deterred by renewed cases of\u00a0bomb blasts\u00a0in some parts of the country.<\/p>\n
