Governor Rochas Okorocha of the eastern Nigerian state of Imo on Sunday described his suspension by the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) as “irrelevant’’.

Okorocha, in a statement by his Media Assistant, Mr Chinedu Offor, in Owerri, however, urged the people of the state to remain calm and be law-abiding.

“The governor is currently in the U.S. for a town hall meeting, organised by Imo indigenes at Atlanta, Georgia,” the statement said.

Okorocha’s suspension may not be unconnected to his active involvement in the merger talks, which eventually led to the formation of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
