The\u00a0Joint Health Sector Unions, umbrella body of all health workers in Nigeria, has given the Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu, \u00a0a 21-day ultimatum to comply with the order of the National Industrial Court in the interest of peace in the health sector.<\/p>\n

In a ruling by\u00a0Justice B.A. Adejumo, President of NIC, the court had ordered the implementation of Shift Duty, Call Duty and other allowances for members of JOHESU, dismissing only their reliefs on the National Health Bill.<\/p>\n

JOHESU made its position known to the press, via a statement signed by its Chairman, Dr. Ayuba Waba; Secretary, Yusuf Badmus; and Chairperson of Joint Health Professional Association, Dr. Godswil Okara, and released on Sunday in Abuja.<\/p>\n

Entitled, \u2018Compliance and implementation of National Industrial Court of Nigeria judgement in respect of suit No. NICN\/ABJ\/238\/2012, delivered on Monday, July 22, 2013, it gives Chukwu a 21-day ultimatum to comply with the court order \u201cor risk a massive industrial action in the health sector.\u201d<\/p>\n
