Communication expert and aspirant for the position of National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Chyna Iwuanyanwu, has reiterated the need for the party to embark on effective branding in order to reposition it in the minds of voters for electoral success.
This is coming as critics have maintained that the registration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has made it necessary for the PDP to embark on fresh image laundering, noting that a communication professional and branding expert in the mold of Chief Iwuanyanwu should be given the opportunity to turn around the fortunes of the party through strategic image and reputation management.
In his address at the sixty-one National Executive Committee of the PDP held on Thursday June 20, 2013 at the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja, the National Chairman of the PDP, Dr. Bamanga Tukur, had harped on the need for improved communication, noting that some of the ways forward for the party included to: \u201cexplore methods for improved communication for sustainable relations of the party \u2013 executive, the party \u2013 legislature and the party community relations; set in motion the necessary networks for contact and consultation to support the formulation of new national mobilization committees; and the need for the party to strategize more for improved relationship with the media\u201d.
Analysts say herein lays the need for an in-house communications expert to handle the PDP\u2019s publicity and image building needs.<\/p>\n
