President Goodluck Jonathan has assured Nigerians that his administration would build on the firm foundations for sustainable national development which it has already established in key areas.<\/p>\n

In his Eid-El-Filtri message to the nation, Jonathan reassured Nigerians of his administration\u2019s commitment to overcome distractions so as fulfill his promise of good governance and national transformation.<\/p>\n

In a statement issued yesterday by his Special Adviser on Media nad Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, the President also assured Nigerians that his administration would continue working tirelessly to build on the firm foundations for sustainable national development which it has already established in key areas such as public infrastructure, power supply, roads, transportation, aviation, agriculture, education, healthcare, youth employment and electoral reform.<\/p>\n

While congratulating Muslims on the successful completion of this year\u2019s Ramadan fast, Jonathan also thanked them for responding to calls by him and other leaders for special prayers during the Ramadan for greater peace, security and progress of the country.<\/p>\n

According to the Eid- El-Filtri message, the President joined patriotic citizens in the pious expectation that God would hearken to their supplications and bless Nigeria even more abundantly with peace, political stability and prosperity.<\/p>\n

Jonathan also urged other elected officials at all levels of governance to avoid overheating the polity with unnecessary ethnic and political intrigues, and give priority to fulfilling their promises of better living conditions for the electorate before turning their minds to plans and permutations for future elections.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs they celebrate Eid-El-Fitri and the end of Ramadan, the President urges Nigerians to continue to support the present Administration in every possible way to ensure that the country continues to make steady progress towards the successful implementation of its agenda for positive national transformation,\u201d the statement added.<\/p>\n
