VICE President, Mohammed Namadi Sambo, has solicited the support of Nigerians for the present administration. <\/p>\n

   He also gave assurance to the people of Kaduna State that they will continue to receive support from the Federal Government.<\/p>\n

   The Vice President spoke in Zaria, Kaduna State, Saturday, at a reception organised by the Zazzau Emirate Council in honour of State Governor, Alhaji Mukhtar Ramalan Yero. <\/p>\n

   The event, held at the emir\u2019s palace, attracted dignitaries from all walks of life. <\/p>\n

   Sambo extended the goodwill of President Jonathan to the governor, the emir, Alhaji Shehu Idris, and the people of the state. <\/p>\n

   In the spirit of Sallah celebrations, the Vice President paid a visit to the home of the governor\u2019s father, Alhaji Ramalan Yero, to felicitate with him.<\/p>\n

   Sambo said that the Jonathan administration is delivering on its campaign promises. He enumerated several projects being executed by the Federal Government in the state, including power, roads, railway, water supply and education, among others. <\/p>\n

   \u201cPresident Jonathan has approved the construction of hydropower plant at the Kubau Dam, providing water for the Zaria water project,\u201d he said, adding, \u201call necessary equipment for the 315 megawatt Kaduna power plant located at the Kudenda area of the state are on site and work is going on steadily.\u201d<\/p>\n

   On transportation, he noted that rail services have commenced from Kano through Zaria to Lagos, stressing: \u201cRehabilitation is also in progress on the rail line from Zaria to Kaura Namoda in Zamfara State. This will be extended to Sokoto and Kebbi States and subsequently to Niamey in Niger Republic.\u201d<\/p>\n

    Sambo said that the Abuja-Kaduna fast train project is on course and would be delivered on schedule. He also gave assurance that the perennial water supply problem in Zaria is being tackled with determination. <\/p>\n

    He appealed for prayers for peace and unity in the country, and expressed the appreciation of the Federal Government to the government and people of Kaduna State, the Emir of Zazzau and people of the Emirate for their continued support. <\/p>\n
