The Lagos state government has filed an appeal at the Supreme Court to challenge the acquittal of Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, former Chief Security Officer to late Head of State, General Sani Abacha by the Court of appeal.<\/p>\n

A statement by the Lagos state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Ade Ipaye Tuesday noted that state seeks to overturn the judgement by the appeal court to free Al-Mustapha and the co-accused Alhaji Lateef Shofolahan over the murder of Alhaja Kudirat Abiola.<\/p>\n

The Attorney General who refused to disclose the grounds on which the state was challenging the judgment of the appeal court, said the state took the decision after a month of thorough evaluation of the judgment.<\/p>\n

According to Ipaye, the state found \u201cenough and very good grounds for appeal.\u201d<\/p>\n
