One\u00a0Ikechukwu Colma, a mechanic was Thursday sentenced by an\u00a0FCT Senior Magistrates\u2019 court in Karu, Abuja,\u00a0to six months in prison without the option of a fine, for beating up Monday Mohammed of Kugbo Village, Abuja<\/p>\n

The judgement was passed by Senior Magistrate Omolola Akindele after the convict pleaded guilty to a two-count charge of criminal force and intimidation.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the prosecutor, Cpl. Umar Mohammed, told the court that Mohammed, the complainant, reported the case at Karu Divisional\u00a0Police Station\u00a0on August 8.<\/p>\n

He said the convict beat up the complainant at\u00a0his\u00a0car wash\u00a0stand following an argument over N15,000 which he said the complainant owed him.<\/p>\n

The complainant was rushed to the hospital after the incident, where he was treated for injuries sustained during the beating.<\/p>\n

He said that the offence was contrary to Sections 264 and 397(b) of the\u00a0Penal code.<\/p>\n

The accused admitted to using force on the complainant as charged by the police, when asked by the magistrate.<\/p>\n

In her ruling, Akindele sentenced the convict to three months in prison for the offence of\u00a0 criminal force and three months for intimidation.<\/p>\n
