The Inter Party Advisory Council (IPAC)\u00a0has urged political parties\u00a0to observe the rules and guidelines set by\u00a0the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to avoid\u00a0de-registration.<\/p>\n

Yinusa Tanko, the National Secretary of the council, made the call\u00a0on\u00a0Thursday said, urged politicians to adhere to\u00a0INEC guidelines by making sure that they conduct their conventions on time and ensure that their state secretariat is functioning.<\/p>\n

He said INEC is doing its part in order to ensure that all political parties followed the laid down rules, its now left for the political parties to justify their existence.<\/p>\n

\u201cOnce a political party cannot follow the tenets, it has no business in politics in the first place, INEC does not just\u00a0de-register them\u00a0for no reason,\u2019\u2019<\/p>\n

Tanko urged political parties to contribute their quota to ensure smooth democratic dispensation, saying that\u00a0de-registration was necessary to avoid\u00a0mediocrity.<\/p>\n

Tanko said the synergy between political parties and INEC had enhanced sound political dispensation in several ways.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe need the help of INEC to do things right so that if we are going\u00a0wrong,\u00a0it can quickly caution us as there are rules guiding every organisation.” He concluded<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
