The Rivers State Police Command has confirmed the release of four Thai nationals, abducted on Aug.9 at Buguma in the\u00a0Asari-Toru Local Government Area of\u00a0 Rivers<\/p>\n

The Public Relations Officer of the command, Mrs Angela Agabe, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Port Harcourt that the Thai nationals were freed in the early hours of Saturday.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019I can confirm to you that the four Thai nationals regained their freedom at 2.00 a.m. on Aug. 17.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019Detectives from the command put pressure on the abductors and they released the victims in a mangrove early today.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019No ransom was paid for the release of the Thai nationals and they are in stable condition,\u2019\u2019 she said.<\/p>\n

The Rivers\u00a0Commissioner for Agriculture, Mr Emmanuel Chinda,\u00a0also told NAN that the\u00a0Thai citizens\u00a0were already in Port Harcourt\u00a0for medical attention.<\/p>\n

He said that the\u00a0four men were working for the Rivers State\u00a0Government-owned Buguma Fish Farm, a project he said, was put in place to\u00a0help the government\u00a0earn more revenue and create employment for the people<\/p>\n
