THREE ministers, six governors, National Assembly members and local council chairmen from the North-East are among major stakeholders that would visit Gombe State today for an advocacy workshop on how states and councils in the zone could enhance their revenue base and improve the economy.<\/p>\n

Speaking during a pre-workshop press briefing, the Federal Commissioner representing Gombe State in the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission, Ambassador Saidu Mohammed Fawu, said Nigeria has over the years depended largely on oil and gas as the main stay of the economy hence, the need for the country to diversify its revenue base to pay less attention to oil and gas.<\/p>\n
