No fewer than 14 Commissioners of Police were Monday deployed by the Inspector-General of Police, Muhammed Abubakar, to other state commands and formations with immediate effect.<\/p>\n

In a statement released on Monday in Abuja and signed\u00a0by the Deputy Force Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, the IG urged the affected CPs to vigorously step up the fight against crime in their new posts.<\/p>\n

It called on the officers to leverage on the cordial relationship among sister security agencies in their respective beats, to ensure that criminal activities were reduced to the barest minimum.<\/p>\n

It read: \u201cThey have also been charged to ensure that officers and men under their supervision are mindful of the rights of the citizenry, while cultivating the trust and confidence of the public in the discharge of their statutory responsibilities,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n

The redeployed CPs include Lawal Tanko,who is now CP, Borno State; Ibrahim Ahmed, CP Zamfara; Hilary Okpara, Bayelsa; Maigari Dikko, Ebonyi; Adebayo Ajileye, Inspectorate \u2018E\u2019 Department, FHQ and Adeola Adeniji, Border Patrol.<\/p>\n

Others are Waheed Salau, Airport; Markus Danladi, Commandant, Police College, Maiduguri; Tonye Ebitibituwa, Training \u2018E\u2019 Dept, FHQ; Hyacinth Dagala, Deputy Commandant, POLAC, Kano; DCP Lawal Shehu, CP Admin, \u2018E\u2019 Dept, FHQ; DCP Ibrahim Adamu, Deputy Force Secretary, DCP Abdul Danwawu, CP Armament and DCP Salisu Abdullahi, CP \u2018X\u2019 Squad.<\/p>\n

Abubakar also ordered six Assistant Inspectors-General of Police and 13 CPs from various commands and formations, including zonal commands and Force Headquarters, to proceed on a Leadership and Strategic Management Course for senior officers.<\/p>\n

There was however no transfer for the embattled Commmissioner of Police in Rivers state,\u00a0Mbu Joseph Mbu.<\/p>\n
