From Umar Dankano, Yola

Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Alex Sabundu Badeh, has described the state of emergency slammed on Adamawa state as justifiable and has no political conations, as according to him “the emergency rule has saved the State from being annexed by insurgents”. Badeh made the disclosure in Yola while fielding questions from journalists, shortly after commissioning Air Lodge, 12×1 Bedroom Flats for non-commissioned officers and 6×3 Bedroom flats for officers yesterday.

Badeh said sequel to the imposition of the emergency rule on the state, it was on the verge of being completely taken over by insurgents as several local governments in the state had been routed by insurgents.
The Air Force chief said all the insinuations being bandied by some elements in the state that there was an ulterior motive behind the imposition of the emergency rule in the state were lies by those who do not want peace to prevail in the state or those who wanted to hide their shortcomings. “Before the emergency rule was declared on the state, many local governments had been routed by these insurgents.

“Do we have to wait till the state capital is taken over by these insurgents before we act?”
“I heard some people denying that there exist Boko Haram insurgents here in Adamawa. It’s lie.
“We went to Farang forest, their hideouts and if anybody is telling you that there is nothing in Adamawa, he goofed.
“Madagali, Mubi, Ganye, Mayo Belwa, Hong, Song were at various times being viciously attacked by the Boko Haram elements.
“They are moving and we don’t want them to come to the state capital”, he said.
