Lagos State Football Association says it is ready for the finals of the 2013 Federation Cup on scheduled to hold on 15 September.<\/p>\n

Enyimba Football Club of Aba, two-time winner of the trophy and Warri Wolves Football Club, first time finalists, would fight for the coveted trophy scheduled for the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere, Lagos, western Nigeria.<\/p>\n

Rivers Angels Football Club and Nasarawa Queens FC will play in the women\u2019s final, which will be holding for the first time in the history of the tournament this year.<\/p>\n

Chairman of Lagos State FA, Seyi Akinwunmi, expressed gratitude to the state Governor, Mr. Babatunde Raji Fashola and the Commissioner for Sports, Wahid Enitan Oshodi for bringing the Federation Cup finals to Lagos for the third time.<\/p>\n

Akinwunmi said hosting the Federation Cup finals in Lagos is another way by which the government demonstrates its commitment to sports development, particularly football. He urged Lagosians to support this move by coming out en-masse to see the finals.<\/p>\n

Akinwunmi, who is also a member of the Federation Cup Planning Committee, stated that all the logistics needed for a successful hosting is being put in place, adding that the state has a very successful meeting with the officials of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF on plans for a befitting 2013 finals.<\/p>\n

\u201cLet me thank Governor Fashola and the Commissioner Sports, Mr. Oshodi for their support for the commitment to host a befitting Federation Cup final ceremony for the country. There is no doubt that this hosting will be of a huge benefit to Eko Football as it will enable many of our youths to get a feel of the nations\u2019 premier knock-out competition,\u201d said Akinwunmi.<\/p>\n

Mr. Dotun Coker, a board member of the Lagos FA, who was part of the meeting between the NFF and representatives of Lagos State, disclosed that everything that will make the grand finale a success and meet with international standard were discussed and agreed upon at the meeting.<\/p>\n

He revealed that Lagos State is ready to host one of the best and well-organised football championships in the country.<\/p>\n
