Governor Rochas Okorocha has said that all those who will join All Progressive Congress (APC) and supporters of the party in 2015 election will not regret their actions.
Governor Okorocha who stated this at the APC rally in Awka, Anambra state capital said that a decision to join APC is one in the right direction.
He said that the rate at which APC was gaining popularity and acceptability was sending a disturbing signal to the members of the other political parties and this according to the governor have made them resort to carrying out campaign of calumny against the new party.
The Imo state chief executive announced that those who believe that the Igbos are in constant disagreement will be disappointed, saying that in APC, you will see the new generation of Ndi Igbo, who have come together to chart a new course and shun the old song of selfishness with the view to ensure that their area is piloted to the shore of economic recovery and social development.
Governor Okorocha further said that the old politicians of Igbo extraction have disappointed their people, because of the fact they played second fiddle in the formulation of policies and the distribution of democratic dividends at Abuja and assured that the young Igbo politicians in APC will not allow history to repeat itself.
He therefore called on Ndi Igbo, especially those in Anambra state to throw their weight behind the new party to enable their state get its fair share of the nation’s cake.
Also speaking, the national organizing secretary of the party, Senator Osita Izunaso said that the Igbo were occupying nine out of the twenty nine positions in the APC structure and assured that they would use these positions to get what is due to the South East zone.
In his remark, a Governorship aspirant in the state, Senator Chris Ngige promised free education and the improvement of infrastructural facilities in the state.
The rally was attended by more than 3000 party supporters from Anambra state.
